Editorial and Peer Review processes

Global Journal for Research Analysis applies a double blind peer review. Referees remain anonymous for the author during the review procedure and the authors name is removed from the manuscript under review. Only after publication, and only with the permission of the referee, the names of the reviewers are published in the article. Each article is first assessed by two of the editors of the editorial board and, if it is judged suitable for GJRA, it is sent to two or three external referees for a double blind peer review. GJRA uses three different review forms (Research and Theory, Integrated Care Cases, Policy papers) all of which apply scientific criteria and take account of the purpose of the article and its merits for integrated care. Based on the recommendations of the reviewers, the editors then decide whether the paper should be accepted as is, revised or rejected. In case of revisions, a final decision on publication will be made after resubmission. If there is no agreement on the part of the editors, the editor-in-chief will make the final decision.

Mrs. A. Kalaiarasi, Dr. S. Mohan, Dr. M. Parimala Fathima

ABSTRACT:

The present study highlights the effectiveness of problem solving strategies for learning mathematics to rural high school students. This study aims to contribute to the understanding of how the teaching of problem solving strategies and strategy thinking in mathematics can be organized in a regular classroom setting and how this affects rural students’ learning in mathematics. We start by discussing the nature of the concept of strategy in relation to the concepts of method and algorithm. After administering problem solving strategies were implemented for period of one month. Using pre and post tests, we compare the development of the students’ conceptual and procedural abilities with a control group. In addition, we use the post test to investigate the students’ use of problem solving strategies. The results suggest that these activities improve students’ ability to use problem solving strategies. Moreover, significant differences were found in conceptual and procedural abilities in mathematics, the experimental group improving more than the control group.

The banking sector has played a vital role in the overall economic development of the country right from the time of nationalization. Due to globalization the Indian Public sector banks have been facing keen competition from the Private Sector and Foreign banks. The banking industry, which is a part of the service sector, has undergone tremendous changes mainly to keep pace with fast changing global business. The economic reforms paved the way for the competition as the mantra for the survival of the banks in particular and all other concerns in general. Regional rural banks are operating in financial system mainly to achieve the global bench mark by diversifying its banking activities to the changing banking global environment. Public sector banks including regional rural banks could not tune themselves to the globalised standards. The economic reforms guided the public sector to equip to meet all the challenges of the globalised scenario, failing which, privatization is unavoidable Economic liberalization could provide disinvestment and divestment also. This is very essential not only for their survival but also for robust growth at a global level. Innovation of new banking services is the need of the hour; as such every bank may ponder whether it will opt for the mega event by that the rural banks can achieve transformations in its operations and marketing of its services in the competitive market.
